Round Table dedicated to International Day of Family, April 14, 2010

Much of success and fulfillment in life depends on creating healthy relationships, yet it is one of the most difficult tasks. Through the marriage and family movement, many educational programs and approaches have been developed to give people knowledge and skills for creating successful relationships

On the Korean Peninsula, people with a common history, culture, and language were divided by the Cold War struggle between superpowers. UPF conferences and forums bring together leading diplomats and scholars to offer insights into prospects for improved relations among the countries of the region. Civil-society initiatives include tourism, humanitarian projects, and a variety of person-to-person connections.

While the Internet links people the world over on an information super-highway, there is no highway with bridges and tunnels to connect all the continents. With advances in technology, engineers have been studying the feasibility of a tunnel under the 85km Bering Strait. An international transportation system could draw together people of all races, cultures, religions, and nationalities in one peaceful and prosperous global community. Visionaries and pragmatists alike are excited by the the prospects.

Visiting the historic and holy sites of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, participants gain a first-hand understanding of the history and spirituality of the Abrahamic faiths. Briefings, dialogues, and opportunities to interact with the variety of people in the region give unique insights into current events as well as opportunities to serve as ambassadors of goodwill and build lasting relationships with people of diverse cultures.
