Roundtable "Education for Peace and Human Development" was held on December 9 in the boardroom of the Academic Council of the M. P. Drahomanov National Pedagogical University. The event was organized by the Universal Peace Federation, the Ukrainian Peace Council, and the M. P. Drahomanov National Pedagogical University. The roundtable was attended by 80 educators and public figures.
Volodymyr Novokhatskiy, Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Peace Council and Viktor Andrushchenko, Rector of the Drahomanov National Pedagogical University of Ukraine shared their peacekeeping experience, including the Peace Forum that recently took place in Albania.
Oleksiy Rogotchenko, Chairman of the Critique and Art Studies section of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, spoke on the topic how culture, education and intercultural dialogue are interconnected. Peter Heider, Chairman of the Austrian Universal Peace Federation, shareв what values, philosophy and goals the Universal Peace Federation has.
Olga Bogomolets, Honored Physician of Ukraine, Professor at the Military Medical Academy, Deputy Chief of the Mobile Hospital in the the Operation of the Combined Forces area, shared her vision of the practical implementation of peace through education. Gary Reusche, Project Manager at the World Bank Group, also shared his hands-on experience in peace education. Fedunova T. M., head of the Association of School Directors of Kyiv, spoke about the project features for the School of Peace students and called on the participants of the event to visit the Peace School as speakers. Yu Sang Chol (South Korea) spoke about projects of exchange and education of students from other countries in Ukraine.
The event inspired all participants to practically embody the information they received in their activities.
