Ukraine is famous for its family traditions, and therefore, family values and the actual International Day of Families were widely celebrated in Kiev.

City authorities invited the families of Kiev to the Operetta Theatre, where the best families, according to the results of the contest, were awarded. After the official part, children performed the musical  perfomence "Bremen Town Musicians".

The Universal Peace Federation did not stay away from such important for the city and its population event. We took part in the final of the educational program "School of Life". Within a few months the students studied the disciplines of moral-and-ethic education, healthy lifestyle, and establishing relations. They had a chance to visit the Parliament of Ukraine. About 40 participants received certificates of completion and valuable g ifts.

Also, on May 21, the Universal Peace Federation organized a tree planting action in an orphanage of family-type and gave seedlings to other 4 children's homes of the kind. From a Crimean nursery garden we received special varieties of peach tree "Ambassador for Peace", resistant to early frosts. After the planting of seedlings, every child made a promise to take special care of his or her tree and, of course, they all invited adults to share their future harvest.

Universal Peace Federation organized celebration of the International Day of Families in a "family style", with support of friends and partners. We would particularly like to mention Ambassador for Peace, Sergey Leonidovich Zaitsev, who organized delivery of seedlings from the Crimea, and donated organic fertilizers to orphanages. Let's be consistent and persistent in our efforts to promote the Family and family values!
